Summary
In the second of Republic’s four serials featuring crime‑fighter Dick Tracy, Byrd’s Tracy had previously confronted the Stark family, a thin analogue of Ma Barker and her sons. In this instalment, however, he again faces a more fantastical adversary: Pichel’s Zarnoff, who opens the narrative by returning from the dead through a “life‑giving” drug of his own invention. After orchestrating chaos across fifthteen chapters, Zarnoff ultimately meets his end in the final episode by drinking from a well containing pure arsenic.
