Summary
The chapterplay’s straightforward narrative follows Elaine Dodge (White) as she seeks to uncover the identity of her father’s murderer, a masked criminal known as the Clutching Hand, portrayed by Lewis, who would later appear in Louis B. Mayer’s 1920 adaptation of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. She is aided by Craig Kennedy (Daly), the most celebrated of the scientific detectives, whose seemingly inexhaustible array of technological devices repeatedly rescues her from the perilous traps set by the Clutching Hand.
