Summary
The series centres on Christopher Chance (Mark Valley), an elite private contractor, bodyguard, and security specialist who is hired to protect clients facing extraordinary threats. Unlike the comic‑book incarnation, Chance does not assume his clients’ identities; instead, he embeds himself directly into their lives, positioning himself as the human target to draw danger away from them.
Chance operates alongside his business partner Winston (Chi McBride), a seasoned former police detective, and Guerrero (Jackie Earle Haley), a morally ambiguous but highly skilled operative. Together, they undertake high‑risk assignments in which Chance repeatedly places himself in harm’s way to uncover the truth behind each mission. Even Winston remains uncertain about the personal history and motivations that led Chance to adopt this perilous line of work.
