Summary
At Incirlik Air Base in Turkey, Lieutenant Hatice detects anomalous solar activity that soon proves catastrophic. The narrative then follows Arman, a free‑spirited scuba diver and submarine engineer who reluctantly joins a research mission operating near Incirlik. As the team proceeds, they uncover a global disaster: sunlight has become instantly lethal to humans, forcing survival only under substantial shielding such as deep water.
Reaching Kos, the crew encounters the surfaced military submarine Yakamoz S‑245, whose personnel join forces with the researchers. Their search for survivors yields none, and several crew members perish. Before sunrise, the remaining personnel retreat to the submarine, where internal tensions escalate. An explosion damages the vessel, prompting Arman and another crew member to exit the submarine to conduct repairs. During this period, the Yakamoz crew discovers an intruder, Hatice, who has secretly boarded the vessel to escape the deadly sunlight.
Subsequent events compel the combined crew to set a course for a Norwegian seed vault, linking the storyline directly to its companion series Into the Night.
