Summary

The first season of Into the Night follows a group of passengers aboard a red‑eye flight departing Brussels whose aircraft is hijacked shortly before take‑off. The hijacker, Terenzio, an Italian NATO officer, forces the plane into the air and warns the passengers and crew of an unfolding global catastrophe: exposure to sunlight has become instantly lethal to all living organisms. As daylight spreads across the globe, the aircraft flies westward in a continuous effort to remain in darkness and avoid the deadly solar radiation.

The survivors, led by Mathieu, the pilot, and Sylvie, a former military helicopter pilot, must cooperate to keep the aircraft airborne while confronting fuel shortages, irradiated supplies, conflicting personal agendas, and escalating interpersonal tensions. Their journey becomes a race to reach an underground military bunker capable of shielding them from the Sun’s effects.

In the second season, the remaining survivors secure entry to a NATO bunker in Bulgaria, where they seek long‑term refuge from the lethal daylight. Working alongside the military personnel stationed there, they attempt to manage rising internal conflicts and devise solutions to the bunker’s dwindling resources, continuing their struggle to adapt and survive in a world transformed by the Sun’s destructive power.
