Summary
Do Min‑joon, an extra-terrestrial stranded on Earth after arriving in 1609, possesses enhanced abilities, does not age, and adopts new identities every decade. Over four centuries he has held multiple professions and is currently a university professor.
Cheon Song‑yi, a celebrated Hallyu actress, faces industry criticism, financial instability caused by her mother, and estrangement from her brother. Lee Hee‑kyung has loved her since adolescence, while Yoo Se‑mi, a childhood friend and frequent supporting co‑star, secretly resents Song‑yi for eclipsing her career and standing between her and Hee‑kyung.
Three months before Min‑joon’s planned departure from Earth, Song‑yi becomes his neighbour. He becomes involved in her turbulent life, repeatedly assisting her and recognising her resemblance to Seo Yi‑hwa, whom he saved centuries earlier. Despite his efforts to avoid attachment, they fall in love, and Song‑yi ultimately accepts his need to leave.
Song‑yi’s career collapses amid rumours linking her to rival actress Han Yoo‑ra’s suicide. She had discovered Yoo‑ra’s secret relationship with Lee Jae‑kyung, Hee‑kyung’s brother, who attempts to silence her until Min‑joon intervenes. Jae‑kyung proves dangerous, injuring a prosecutor investigating Yoo‑ra’s death and exploiting Min‑joon’s weakening powers. As Min‑joon attracts police scrutiny, Hee‑kyung, despite jealousy, cooperates with him to protect Song‑yi.
