Summary

Star City is set in an alternate‑history Soviet Union where the USSR has achieved sustained technological and scientific dominance, particularly in space exploration. The narrative unfolds around the secretive research and military complex known as Star City, a centrepiece of the Soviet space programme and a symbol of the state’s ideological and scientific ambitions.

The story follows a group of scientists, officers, and political operatives whose work within the facility becomes entangled with classified experiments, unexplained phenomena, and escalating geopolitical tensions. As the Soviet leadership pursues breakthroughs intended to secure global supremacy, the personnel of Star City confront the consequences of these initiatives: ethical conflicts, internal power struggles, and the emergence of anomalies that challenge both scientific understanding and political control.

The series blends speculative science fiction with political drama, presenting a Soviet Union that diverged sharply from real history, one in which advanced technologies, experimental physics, and state secrecy shape the trajectory of the nation. Through its ensemble cast, Star City explores themes of ideological loyalty, scientific responsibility, and the precarious balance between discovery and danger in a world defined by Cold War rivalries and alternate technological evolution.
