Summary
The Stranger is depicted as a mysterious Preceptor originating from the Dimensional Web and assigned to undertake a specialised mission on Earth.
The series was a direct‑to‑video and audio CD science‑fiction drama produced by BBV and starring Colin Baker. The productions were later issued on DVD. The series commenced in 1991 with Summoned by Shadows, co‑produced with the BBC Film Club as an intentional homage to the long‑running British science‑fiction television series Doctor Who. This approach reflected the interests of BBV founder Bill Baggs and served as a pragmatic strategy to appeal to the franchise’s established audience.
