Summary

The Series centres on Sofie, a thirteen‑year‑old girl portrayed by Bebiane Ivalo Kreutzmann. Her overriding wish is to see her parents, who separated the previous Christmas, reconcile so the family can celebrate the holiday together.

On 1 December, Sofie receives an unusual gift from her grandfather: a prototype device known as a gyro, an invention he is attempting to complete. Under specific conditions, the gyro functions as a time‑travel apparatus. That same day, Sofie is approached by Dixie (Hannibal Harbo Rasmussen), a new classmate who displays an inexplicably detailed knowledge of her life, an intense interest in the gyro, and is being pursued by two covert agents.

When Sofie attempts to discover Dixie’s identity and intentions, the agents track her to the shed where he is hiding, forcing him to escape. Sofie accompanies him to the year 1984, where he reveals that he is from the future and that time travel has been outlawed, making him a fugitive.

In 1984, Sofie seizes the opportunity to alter her parents’ past in the hope of preventing their eventual divorce. Her intervention, however, produces unintended and severe consequences.
