Summary
Set in 2017, seven years after Ultraman Tiga, the Terrestrial Peaceable Consortium has expanded into space and formed Super GUTS to support humanity’s Neo Frontier project, including the terraforming of Mars. The initiative is disrupted when an alien species known as the Spheres launches an attack. During a training mission, new recruit Shin Asuka encounters a luminous entity that merges with him after his craft is destroyed, granting him the ability to transform via the Lieflasher into a new giant of light, later identified as Ultraman Dyna. Asuka, in this form, defends Mars from Sphere‑generated monsters created by the aliens’ fusion with Martian rock.
The series concludes with Dyna/Asuka sacrificing himself to stop Gransphia, the planet‑sized progenitor of the Spheres. He is last seen travelling between dimensions with his long‑missing father. Later productions confirm his survival: Ultra Galaxy Giant Monster Battle establishes his continued existence, and Ultraman Saga depicts a brief reunion with Super GUTS before his disappearance.
