Summary
Following the events of the pilot film, Mike Traceur becomes the designated field operative partnered with K.I.T.T. under the auspices of Knight Industries Research and Development, a covert intelligence organisation supervised jointly by Alex Torres of the NSA and Carrie Rivai of the FBI. The wider team comprises Charles Graiman, his daughter Sarah Graiman, and technical specialists Billy Morgan and Zoe Chae.
In the opening episode, a mission is jeopardised by individuals who claim prior association with Mike, despite his inability to recall them. He subsequently discloses that a substantial portion of his memory has been lost due to an unspecified trauma, an interval that also corresponds with a period of estrangement from Sarah. To prevent further operational compromise, Carrie Rivai orchestrates a staged death for Mike Traceur, effectively terminating his former identity. Thereafter, Traceur adopts the name Michael Knight II and continues his work with K.I.T.T. as Knight Industries’ principal operative.
