Summary
The narrative concerns a newly formed unit of technologically advanced crime‑fighters assembled by the Foundation for Law and Government (FLAG), the organisation established by Wilton Knight. This team is conceived as the successor to the earlier operations of Michael Knight and his autonomous vehicle K.I.T.T.. Departing from the original model of "one man making a difference," the updated programme deploys five operatives, each paired with a sophisticated, computerised, voice‑interactive vehicle. Together, they pursue high‑profile offenders who operate beyond the reach of conventional law enforcement, including spies, assassins, terrorists, and narcotics traffickers.
Throughout the series, Team Knight Rider undertakes missions reflecting FLAG’s mandate to confront criminals who function above the law. The season’s final episode, also the final episode of the series, features the unexpected reappearance of Michael Knight. He is shown only from behind and portrayed by a body double, serving as an unresolved cliff-hanger intended to link the new team with its predecessor. The storyline was left incomplete due to the programme’s cancellation.
