Summary
Nanase (Takigawa), a telepath compelled to remain perpetually itinerant to avoid public discovery of her abilities, encounters two boys with comparable extrasensory powers during a rainy night aboard a train. Tsuneo (Horiuchi), a clairvoyant, foresees an imminent and catastrophic accident, while Norio (Niigaki), an empath, confirms the accuracy of his prediction. Acting on their warnings, the children flee moments before the train crashes.
The trio subsequently become fugitives from Norio’s stepmother, who regards them as sorcerers. Seeking refuge in Tokyo, they befriend Henry (Isley), a bar worker who offers them assistance. Despite their conspicuous appearance, three unaccompanied children accompanied by a towering foreigner, the group travels to Hokkaido, where they intervene to prevent a man from murdering his girlfriend. During their time there, they meet Fujiko (Murachi), a young woman without psychic abilities who reveals herself to be a time traveller from the future.
Fujiko’s journey into the past uncovers that Nanase, Tsuneo, and Norio are descendants of a telepathic lineage that flourished in Hokkaido five centuries earlier. In the present, the group is pursued by journalist Yamamura (Takahashi), whom they implore not to sensationalise their circumstances. Moved by their plea, Yamamura agrees to assist them and accompanies Nanase to Macao, where she hopes to win sufficient funds to purchase land in Hokkaido for the children to settle.
However, Yamamura is abducted by the casino owner, who is assembling a cadre of terrorists specialising in the elimination of telepaths. Nanase rescues Yamamura and escapes to Japan with Princess Henide, a girl she meets at the casino. The terrorists, determined to eradicate telepaths entirely, continue their pursuit, placing Nanase and her companions in escalating danger.
