Summary

The revived version of The Tomorrow People again centres on a group of young individuals representing the next stage of human evolution. They possess a range of psionic abilities, including telepathy, teleportation, and an enhanced danger‑sense that alerts them when another member of the group is threatened. One member, Megabyte, exhibits an additional ability not shared, or not utilised, by the others: a specialised form of telekinesis that functions exclusively on computers and electronic systems. As in the original series, the Tomorrow People are incapable of killing, even in self‑defence, a biological safeguard portrayed as intrinsic to their evolutionary advancement. They work collectively to use their abilities for the benefit of humanity, frequently intervening to prevent schemes devised by rogue scientists or would‑be global conquerors.

In this iteration, the group’s base of operations is an alien spacecraft located on an uncharted island in the Pacific. The series provides no explanation for how the vessel came to be on the island or how the Tomorrow People discovered it. The team is led by Adam Neuman, whose temperament is notably more relaxed than that of his predecessor in the original programme. Adam is portrayed by Kristian Schmid, already familiar to British audiences through his role as a regular cast member on the Australian soap opera Neighbours.
