Summary

After the events of V: The Final Battle, Diana escapes her captured mothership but is quickly recaptured by Mike Donovan. One year later, on Liberation Day, former Resistance members pursue new lives until Science Frontiers abducts Diana. Its CEO, Nathan Bates, seeks alien technology and hides her in a remote cabin.

Donovan and Martin track Bates’s agents, but Diana kills Martin and escapes to the Southwest Tracking Station. She contacts a Visitor fleet concealed behind the Moon, assumes command, and launches a renewed invasion. Learning that the Red Dust is only effective in cold climates, she directs attacks toward warmer regions, including Los Angeles.

The Resistance reforms to fight the Visitors nationwide while also contending with Bates, who exploits the political vacuum to declare Los Angeles an open city under his control. With further Red Dust deployment environmentally unsafe, the Resistance relies on conventional tactics. Meanwhile, Elizabeth, now transformed into a young adult, becomes central to the conflict and ultimately influences the fate of both humans and Visitors.
