Summary
The new Flash Gordon series follows Flash (Eric Johnson) and his companions, Dale Arden (Gina Holden) and Dr. Hans Zarkov (Jody Racicot), as they are propelled into a series of wild and consequential adventures. Though each begins as an ordinary individual, they are repeatedly drawn, often unwillingly, into extraordinary circumstances. Together, they become Earth’s final line of defence against the authoritarian rule of Ming (John Ralston).
At the outset, Flash believes that his father, the renowned scientist Dr. Lawrence Gordon, died in a laboratory fire when Flash was thirteen. He has no way of knowing that events are about to unfold which will challenge everything he thought he understood about that tragedy and set him on a path marked by immense responsibility and unexpected triumphs.
Flash’s journey begins when a dangerous remnant of his father’s experimental work resurfaces. Seeking clarity, he turns to his former girlfriend, Dale Arden, now a local television reporter engaged to police detective Joe Wylee (Giles Panton). Dale quickly becomes entangled in the escalating interstellar conflict. At the same time, Dr. Zarkov, Flash’s father’s eccentric former assistant, reappears at a pivotal moment. He warns Flash of a trans dimensional rift, a tear in the fabric of the universe similar to the one Dr. Gordon attempted to create on the night of the fatal fire.
