Summary
The Stand portrays a post‑apocalyptic world ravaged by a weaponised plague, in which the dispersed survivors, immune to the outbreak, are inexorably drawn toward two opposing leaders. One represents hope and moral renewal, while the other embodies malevolence and destruction. Their divergent visions establish the conditions for an ultimate confrontation between the forces of good and evil.
