Summary
The Monkey King, Sun Wukong, was imprisoned beneath a mountain five centuries earlier after defying Heaven, and in the present era the mortal world has fallen under demonic rule, leaving humans, gods, and immortals oppressed or in hiding. A scholar secretly assembles a small group of warriors and a monk, Tripitaka, to revive Wukong and recover the Heavenly Scrolls he once stole and hid on Earth, artefacts capable of granting limitless power. When a demon attacks, killing the scholar and stealing the magical crown required for Wukong’s resurrection, the scholar’s adopted daughter assumes Tripitaka’s identity and escapes. After narrowly surviving pursuit, she retrieves the crown, frees the Monkey King, whose abilities remain suppressed by the crown, and joins forces with Pigsy and Sandy. Together, the four embark on a quest to locate the lost scrolls and gather the strength needed to overthrow the demons.
